Colorado went back to their old habits on the road trip taking a 4-1 loss against St. Louis Cardinals. They struck out 16 times against a spot starter and company. If everyone was like me, I spent the day following my fantasy football players on televised NFL games. The Rockies has become so bad that RWO fans already knew that we would go 0-6 on the road even before they departed Denver for New York.
Bob in WV is asking the RWO class to repeat after him, “We will not be optimistic next spring.” The RWO fan in me is hopping on this no-op bandwagon, but the RWO reporter in me is obligated to report the facts and avoid negative comments unless I want to be a Mark Kiszla wannabe. Ed the ump wants to spend more time socializing and do less Rockies watching.
Speaking of RWO, it is a great site to keep us sane and avoid any thoughts of “suicide” (quit being Rox fan). I will be taking a vacation in Hawaii departing this Saturday and returning the last day of the baseball season. Jeem volunteered to pick up one day for me. The RWO editorial staff wants to ask any RWO fan to volunteer to pick up rmh’s work while he is frolicking in Hawaii. It is a great chance to try writing for a day or two and see if you like doing it. That will give you an idea if you are willing to become a contributor for 2015. RWO needs some help besides jeem and myself.
Speaking of spring training 2015, I will be there March 8-15, 2015. We have a two-bedroom resort in Mesa with full kitchen and 2 bathrooms (about 30 min drive from SRF) in which the second bedroom is available. If interested contact me and I will be asking for $500 for the whole week. If nobody is interested, I will “lock off” the second bedroom and exchange it to another vacation spot. In the past years, the RWOers have enjoyed socializing at the Tavern near SRF.
