White on Mound for Rox Tonight [Chat]

Alex white has been called up to take the mound against the Cardinals for tonights third, and last, game of the series. The Rockies are hoping to avoid another sweep with a tweak to the lineup and a fresh arm on the hill.

Andrew Brown was sent down to make space for Alex White, who has been working on his delivery with the Sky Sox where he was 3-3 with a 3.61 ERA in 10 starts. His last two starts were pretty impressive, which is the reason for the call up and the hope of a spark coming from the starters.

Cuddyer is out of the lineup again with a sore right oblique muscle, something he feels wont land him on the DL.

The tweaked lineup is as follows:

Tyler Colvin [RF]
Josh Rutledge [SS]
Dexter Fowler [CF]
Carlos Gonzalez [LF]
Jordan Pacheco [3B]
Todd Helton [1B]
Ramon Hernandez [C]
DJ LeMahieu [2B]
Alex White [RHP]

What, JDB??? You have issues with Denver traffic on game-night?

Try getting to DIA late and making your flight on time.

Off topic, another ex Rockie pitcher doing good. Samuel Deduno was claimed off of waivers by the Padres and then later the Padres also DFA’ed him. I didn’t follow it any farther than that but he is now a starting pitcher for the Minnesota Twins. He last pitched for the Rockies in 2010.

So far he is 3-0 with a 2.48 ERA.

From the DP this morning…

“We definitely want to win this year. We’re not sitting back waiting on next year or the year after. We want to win now.”

That quote was attributed to Magic Johnson…part owner of the LA Dodgers.
